Originally from Southern California, Phillips later found his footing in Colorado, where his early projects carved through clubs and stages across the western U.S. — including Anchorage and Waikiki — eventually reaching audiences overseas during a tour through Japan. After a creative reset devoted to songwriting in Vancouver, British Columbia, he ultimately settled on the East Coast U.S., where Connecticut now serves as home base for the next chapter of The Mosh Petals.
